Colorado Spring

Our next adventure took us to Colorado, starting in Denver:

  • We flew into Denver and rented a Ford Expedition for our road trip.
  • Get ready for an eight-day adventure through the heart of the Rockies. From the vibrant city of Denver to the tranquil beauty of Aspen, this trip offers a mix of exhilarating activities, breathtaking landscapes, and charming mountain towns. Whether you’re hiking in the Rockies, rafting in Glenwood Springs, or soaking in hot springs, every day brings a new experience.

Days 1-2: Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park

  • We explored Estes Park, a charming mountain town.
  • We visited Rocky Mountain National Park, taking in the breathtaking alpine scenery.
  • We enjoyed the serenity of Lily Lake, arriving early in the morning for the best views.
  • We missed this due to closer, gondola ride up the Rockies for panoramic vistas.

Day 3: Garden of the Gods

We drove to the beautiful Garden of the Gods, admiring the unique red rock formations.

  • The Garden of the Gods, a natural park known for its stunning red rock formations. Walk among the towering rocks, which seem to defy gravity with their balancing acts. The park offers plenty of hiking trails, each providing a different perspective on this geological wonder.

Days 4-5: Vail and Aspen

  • We explored the picturesque Aspen village.
  • We visited Maroon Bells, one of the most photographed mountains in North America.
  • We drove over Independence Pass, enjoying stunning views along the way.
  • We hiked the Grottos Trail, discovering ice caves and waterfalls.
  • We explored Aspen Snowmass and Red Rock Mountain.
  • We walk around on Independence pass as road closer. Drive through Independence Pass, one of the highest paved roads in North America. The narrow, winding road offers breathtaking views at every turn, with steep drop-offs and towering peaks.
  • Cycling and explore the Snowmass golf area with stunning views of Mountain.

Day 6: Glenwood Springs

We enjoyed an exhilarating level 4 rafting experience at Glenwood Springs.

  • Get your adrenaline pumping with a Level 4 rafting experience on the Colorado River. The rapids are challenging, but the thrill of navigating them is unforgettable.

Accommodation tip: We stayed in Carbondale, but consider booking in Snowmass Village for a different experience.

Day 7: More Glenwood Springs

  • We took a gondola ride up the mountain for spectacular views.
  • We relaxed in the famous hot springs, a perfect way to soothe our muscles after days of adventure.

Pro tip: You will see lots of Hot springs so look around and explore while driving.

Day 8: Return to Denver

We drove back to Denver, concluding our Colorado adventure.
